The field of Electronics and Communication Engineering is one of the most exciting fields in today’s world. To automate or to interact with any device or a system, Communication Engineering plays the key role. Whether you talk about inter planetary mission, remote sensing, smart-city, self-driving car, robots, smart mobiles, or internet of things, electronics and communication is at the core. The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering started during the academic year 2001 and offers B.E. degree course in Electronics and Communication Engineering and an M.Tech degree course in Electronics Engineering. The primary objective of the department is to impart quality education, training and research at the undergraduate, postgraduate levels in various areas of Electronics and Communication Engineering with broad emphasis on design aspects of communication systems. The department provides a very cordial environment for students to nurture and guide them to bloom into a knowledgeable and skilled Electronics and Communication engineer. An Electronics and communication Engineer with specialization in Electronic System Design, DSP, Embedded Systems, VLSI, etc., can be employed in the public and private sector industries and organizations such as Intel, Texas Instruments, BSNL, ISRO, DRDO, Indian Telephone Industries, MTNL, National Physical Laboratories, AIR, Civil aviation, and the Police Wireless Departments.

Electronics and Communication Engineering is one of the largest and fastest growing fields of engineering and plays a vital role in‘Technology Evolution’.
In the present days most of the things around us are becoming smarter, which begins with hardware and algorithms that is capable of sharing data and information about that thing. It deals with the communication technology along with basic electronic components, design of circuits and systems. It covers a wide range of application which makes our life easier, comfortable and enjoyable enabling us to see, hear and communicate over long distance and do the things faster such as Android LED TVs, Digital Radio, Computers, Smart Mobile phones etc.
The ECE also plays a major role in ‘Industrial Automation’ which in turn improve productivity in industries like oil, energy, agriculture, healthcare, automobiles etc and even in various sectors of economy and defence.
Hence ECE is a very fascinating and interesting field to pursue studies in Engineering and make a career in it.
