The Department of Civil Engineering organized a Survey Camp for B.Tech. Civil Engineering, Fourth Semester students from February 25 to March 1, 2025, at Village Kharpada (Sawangi), Mogarkasa Road, , Pauni, Ramtek. The One Week camp involved both boys and girls and featured a wide variety of activities. Each day included Yoga sessions, breakfast, instructions, fieldwork, lunch, rest, office work, games, and cultural activities followed by dinner.
One Week workshop on “Total Station and DGPS” was held during the camp, in association with Reyan Engineer’s and Land Surveyor’s. The students carried out topography, road and basin surveys using Auto Level and Total Station equipment.
Day 1: Introduction to the Total Station and its initial adjustments.
Day 2 & 3: Students worked on road projects, topographical surveys, and contour mapping using the Total Station and Auto Level in groups.
Day 4: Training on the use of DGPS (Differential Global Positioning System) for, topography, and contouring was provided. Students also learned layout marking manually and set out building plans with the Total Station.
Day 5: Students were trained to transfer data and produce drawings using AutoCAD and drawing L-section, cross-section and contour map manually on drawing sheet.
The camp concluded with a cultural program by the students, followed by the distribution of participation certificates by Principal Dr. Avinash N. Shrikhande, Dr. Anant N. Dabhade, Head, CED, Er. Pawan Hadge, and Staff Incharge Mr. Shriniwas V. Rayadu and Mr. Shubham P. Kawale. The event ended with a campfire.
