Guest Lecture on "Revolutionizing Urban Landscapes through Advanced Water Conservation and Hydroponic Techniques"
A guest lecture was organized by the Department of Architecture under the aegis of IQAC on 4th December 2024, at the Architecture Department, KITS Ramtek. Addressing the Guest lecture on "Revolutionizing Urban Landscapes through Advanced Water Conservation and Hydroponic Techniques" was Dr. Kirti Nishant Nikam, an esteemed academician from the Manipal School of Architecture and Planning. The event commenced with an inauguration graced by Mrs. Kalpana Thakare, Head of the Department (H.O.D.) of Architecture, Mrs. Thakare also took the opportunity to introduce Dr. Nikam to the audience, underlining her significant contributions to the field. The lecture delved into the transformative potential of water conservation techniques and hydroponic systems in reshaping urban environments. Dr. Nikam skilfully guided the attendees through the multifaceted advantages of these modern approaches, emphasizing their role in addressing urban challenges such as water scarcity, green space optimization, and ecological sustainability. Mrs. Prerna Chahande was the Guest lecture’s coordinator. Fifth-year B.Arch student Sneha Chilhare hosted the program. The vote of thanks was presented by Ms. Vaidehi Kadu. Along with the faculty members of KITS Ramtek, this workshop was enthusiastically attended by 24 students from the Architecture Department. In the end, the Department of Architecture expressed its gratitude to Shri. V. Srinivasa Rao, Secretary, VES, and Dr. Avinash Shrikhande, Principal, KITS Ramtek, for their continuous support.
