International Day of Yoga Celebration at KITS, Ramtek
NCC Unit, NSS Unit, and Department of Physical Education, jointly organized the International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2024 from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM at Quadrangle of Administrative Building of Kavikulguru Institute of Technology and Science (KITS), Ramtek. Enthusiastically celebrated the International Day of Yoga, an event recognized worldwide to promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being through the practice of yoga. The event took place on the lush green grounds of the campus, where students, faculty, and staff came together to participate in various yoga sessions and activities.At the outset, Principal, Dr. A. N. Shrikhande, welcomed Dr. B. Selokar, Head, Pathanjali Yogapeeth, Ramtek, with the bouquet. Yoga practitioner Dr. B. Selokar, explained about the importance of Ashtanga yoga and demonstrated Pranayama, Asanas, Surya Namaskar, and Yoga mudras.
The highlight of the event was the address by Dr.Avinash N.Shrikhande, the Principal of KITS, Ramtek. In his speech, Dr.Avinash N. Shrikhande highlighted the importance of yoga as a holistic approach to health and well-being. He emphasized that yoga not only improves physical fitness but also enhances mental clarity and emotional stability. Dr. Avinash N. Shrikhande encouraged everyone present to incorporate yoga into their daily lives, stating that regular practice can lead to a healthier and more productive lifestyle.
Dean Student Activities Dr. Pankaj Ashtankar hosted the program. The program became a grand success with the cooperation of NCC,ANO, Mr.Rajat Yadav, Dr.Uddal Hatwar, Programme Officer, NSS Unit and Mr. Dinesh Joshi, Staff in charge, Department of Physical education, under the guidance of Dr. Avinash N. Shrikande, Principal, and Dr. Pankaj Ashtankar, Dean Student Activities, KITS Ramtek.
