The need of creating appropriate architecture to shelter man and his pursuits in relation to the space/place resources and time is a widely accepted and acknowledged programme the world over.

We at KITS understand the importance of imparting Architectural Education and the responsibility of creating architects well versed to shape a livable tomorrow.

Five year B.Arch. Semester Pattern Degree Course of the R.T.M. Nagpur University, approved and recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Council of Architecture (COA) is offered at KITS since 1994 with an intake of 30 students per annum

Department, Environment and Infrastructure

The Architecture Department occupies about 700 sq.m. area at the first floor level, above the central library in the Civil engineering building overlooking nature, well laid out garden and illuminated fountains adding charm to its setting and its user.

Our drawing and designing studios are well equipped with drawing boards, tables, stools, lockers, display boards, black board, needed illumination, ventilation and are spacious enough for 60 to work simultaneously.
We have Exhibition Space, Audio-Video Lecturer room, Seminar Hall, Climatology Lab, Computer Lab, Photography Lab, Construction Yard, Materials Bureau, Departmental Library and Architecture section at the Main Library.

The KITS Workshop, survey lab and computer lab are made use of extensively while we share almost all the 12 laboratories of the Civil Engineering Department. Plans for our new Architecture Block are ready and its construction is likely to be started shortly.

 The students who join us get extensive exposure and scope for acquainting self, with the art and the science content, underlying architectural creation. Evolving architectural products relative to man's physical, aesthetic and psychological needs and the process that brings out acceptable architecture is what we teach here. 

Eligibility and Admission

Five year B. Arch. course at KITS is affiliated to the Nagpur University and is governed by the norms stipulated by the University, the AICTE and the C.O.A. Candidates aspiring to join this course and pursue this field should have passed standard XII (10+2) examination of the Maharashtra State Board or an equivalent examination recognized by the R.T.M. Nagpur University as its equivalent and Mathematics as one of the subjects.

Aptitude Test

Passing an aptitude test (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture makes one eligible for selection to this course. Aptitude test is for finding out the applicant's basic awareness, observation potential, communication capability and drawing abilities and skills needed to pursue the learning of architecture. This test is conducted at various centers where candidates from Maharashtra and other states may appear. The aptitude test covers free hand drawing, visualization, and observation, sketching from memory, colour and aesthetic sensitivity.

Tuition Fees:                                                          

• Tuition Fee: Rs.40,700/- per annum for I and II year
• Tuition Fee: Rs.36,400/- per annum for III,IV & V years

Hostel Fee   :     Rs.11,000=00 for establishment  and maintenance charges
